Chopping board care
Our chopping boards have been finished with Osmo chopping board oil, a food-safe finish based on natural plant oils and wax, to protect your board from dirt and water.
- After use wash it down with soapy and dry it thoroughly.
- Leaving your board wet will encourage splitting.
- Never put it in the dishwasher.
- If the board becomes rough to touch, then it’s time for a re-oil.
- Apply a thin coat of a high-quality food-safe oil (such as Osmo or other food-safe cutting board oil) with a clean cloth, buff gently, and then wipe the excess oil off with a dry cloth.
Resin Board Care
- If you have used your piece as a charcuterie/cheese board wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove any leftover food & then wash under warm water whilst using a non-abrasive sponge.
- Dry immediately after washing to ensure water is not absorbed into the wood This will increase its longevity and reduce the likelihood of warping and cracking.
- Never submerge it in water & do not put it in the dishwasher.
- These pieces are meant for display and serving- not as cutting boards. While you can cut on the wood, we do not recommend cutting on the artwork feature of your Resin Art Board, cutting on the resin will cause your knives to dull and can scratch the artwork.
- Your board has been finished with Odie’s Oil Ultimate Finish to protect it from water and stains. If you start to notice a dullness or cloudiness to the finish, then it’s time for a deep clean & re-oil.
To Re-Oil
- Apply a thin coat of a high-quality food-safe oil (such as Odie’s Oil or other food-safe cutting board oil) with a clean cloth, buff gently, and then wipe the excess oil off with a dry cloth.
- Your board’s resin part doesn’t need any special treatment but if you do really want the resin to shine at your table, rub some oil over it to give it some extra sparkle.
